At the 3rd June meeting of the SSDC District Executive, it was agreed that the Neighbourhood Plans for Martock and Queen Camel should be ‘Made’. This means that the Neighbourhood Plans attain the same legal status as the Local Plan (and other documents that form part of the statutory development plan). Applications for planning permission must be determined in accordance with the development plan, unless material considerations indicate otherwise.
To see the moment when the Queen Camel Neighbourhood Plan officially became ‘Made’ view the below video between18.30 to 22 minutes.

The Parish Council has two casual vacancies that are now open for people to put themselves forward for co-option on to the Parish Council.
This is an exciting time for the Council and a great opportunity to give your experience back to your local community; come and join a group of Councillors who are passionate about their parish to help steer and carve a future for further generations.
Please can you provide a few details about yourself in writing (by email or letter by 12 noon Friday 2nd April 2021), highlighting the skills, qualities and experience which you feel would be of benefit to the Council in the event of your being co-opted. I will circulate anything you let me have to Councillors to help their decision.
The Council plans to consider all applications for co-option at its meeting on Tuesday 13th April 2021 via Zoom starting at 7.30pm. It would be an advantage if you were able to attend that meeting so that you can present and Councillors have the opportunity to discuss your candidacy with you before it makes its decision on who best to co-opt. Please can you also complete and return the attached form to confirm that you meet the criteria.
