Planning

The Parish Council does not have the power to 'determine' (decide upon) planning applications, but is consulted by Somerset Council Planning Office, which is the 'planning authority', on all applications within our Parish. Members of Somerset Council make the decisions at their Planning Meetings, which are usually held every month.

The planning process is very transparent with all information in the public domain.

To search for a planning application, visit the View and comment on a planning application page on the Somerset Council website.  You can register to track specific applications and searches so that an email is received when new information becomes available. This is the easiest way to make sure you don't miss anything of interest.

For each application you can see the plans and read documents and comments made by your Parish Council and others. You can also comment on an application yourself. Parish Councillors do not recieve paper copies of any planning applications.

If you wish to APPLY for planning permission you will find the information you need on the Apply for planning permission page on the Somerset Council website.
