As well as the full Parish Council, we also have a Finance and Risk committee to deal with this specific area. Devon and Somerset Fire Service response consultation

Last year, crews responded to an average of 16 false alarms every day due to automatic fire alarms, placing an unnecessary burden on the Service’s resources and ability to be ready and available for genuine emergencies.

In the last five years, there have been more than 55,000 automatic fire alarms alerts, out of which just 42 needed the hose reel jet from a fire engines, which is less than 0.08%.

They are looking at how they can reduce the number of automatic fire alarms attended to make the Service more efficient, and make sure our firefighters are able to respond to genuine emergencies.

Wessex Water Community drop-in

Do you have a query about your water bill, how to save water and prevent blockages, or your water and sewerage services?  

@wessexwater will be holding drop-in sessions at Yeovil Library on 10 February, 14 April, and 9 June to answer all of your water related questions. These sessions will run between 10am-12pm and 1pm-2pm.

Glorious Gardens

Next year St Margarets Hospice will be celebrating its 45th anniversary and invites the local community to help them celebrate by taking part in the Glorious Gardens campaign by opening their garden, sharing their love of gardening, and helping to raise vital funds for St Margarets Hospice care in the community.

The campaign is a wonderful opportunity for people to showcase their gardens, connect with their neighbours, and contribute to a cause that touches the lives of so many lives.

Defibrillator training video

Queen Camel has two defibrillators, one at the village hall and one on the sports pavilion.
